Sailor's new buddy

Our friend, Britt became a foster mom for a dog rescued from Kentucky.  On the day that she had to drive the dog to the adopt-a-pet event, she realized she couldn't give her up.  So, now named "Carrie' from Carrie Bradshaw from Sex in the City, she's a permanent fixure in Britt's life and a new friend of Sailor's.

SAILOR'S BIG HEAD IN THE BACK SEAT OF MY CAR.  HE SURE GETS ATTENTION AS I DIRVE BY PEOPLE. 

SAILOR IS 2 YEARS-OLD!

Sailor turned 2 on September 24th.  He got lots of treats, a bone from the Canine Club and some new toys.  He immediately chewed up a new tennis ball!

HEARTBREAKING LOSS OF OSA

Sorry friends that I have not been keeping up with my blog over the last few weeks. We had the unexpected loss of our beloved dog, Osa on July 17th after 14 wonderful years (she was 15 1/2).  We thought for sure we would definitely have her for a while longer so when we took her to the vet that day , we did not know that we wouldn't be coming home without her.  Long story short, they found a tumor in her chest that was constricting her breathing and one of her lungs.  Along with the arthritis in her spine, the vet said she only had 1 -3 months longer, so we had to make the decision that we dreaded when we starting seeing the signs of her demise into old age.  She had a great life with us (we hope) and now we know she is chasing rabbits in Doggie Heaven.  Osa, we love and miss you!!!

SAILOR'S BIG BONES AND BALL

The Twin cities has a lot of different art fests and festivals and most of them are dog friendly.  We took Sailor to the Stone Arch Art Festival in June, 2010.  We saw the Science Diet Dog booth and loved that they had these giant bones and ball.  Just his size.  He had a blast and was so exhausted that night from all the petting he got!

My co-worker Tanya sent this postcard from Newfoundland, Canada where she stopped on her way to London.  It was really awesome that she thought to write this and mail it to me!

EAGLE IN THE TREE

THIS WAS WORTH POSTING CAUSE IT WAS AMAZING TO SEE THIS EAGLE SITTING PEACEFULLY IN A TREE.  HIS WING SPAN MUST HAVE BEEN 6 FEET.  HE WAS AMAZING TO SEE.

PORTER AT THE HELM

THIS IS OUR FRIEND JIM ON THE BOAT ON DEVIL'S LAKE.  SAILOR HAD TAKEN A SWIM BEFORE WE TOOK A RIDE, SO HE IS SOAKED.  PORTER LIKES TO TAKE THE HELM.

At the cabin on Devil's Lake, Wisconsin, Lulu plays with Sailor although he is 4 times his side.  She saus, "Silly Sailor".  Here Sailor is trying to help her play with her toys.

DEVIL'S LAKE, WI WITH JIM AND CHRISTINE

Sailor has a great time with his buddy Porter on Devil's Lake, Wisconsin.  He still won't jump off the dock, but tries to race Porter for the toy bu running back to the front of the dock and getting in the water from shore.
